MICHAEL JACKSON’S LIFE.
Introduction.
Michael Jackson was known also as “The King of Pop”. Born on August 29, 1958, he became “the most successful entertainer of all time”. His songs, videos, dances, personal life and eccentricities made him famous. Also being a humanitarian and philanthropist, he was a global figure for over four decades who has influenced many actual artists.
Being a child as Michael Jackson.
Born on August 29, 1958, Michael was the eighth children of the Jackson family. His parents were Joseph Walter Jackson and Katherine Jackson. Michael had eight siblings: three sisters and five brothers. His sisters’ names are: Rebbie, LaToya and Janet; his brother’s: Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and Randy. Their parents had another child, named Brandon, but he died shortly after birth.
It is said that Joseph and Michael had troubles with their relationship, since Joseph used to hit his children. He used to bother Michael with “his big nose” and his appearance, though no one really knows if this was true. Joseph also had a child out of marriage, because he used to have love affairs during his son’s tours.
Michael and his brother Marlon entered to a group named “The Jackson 5” in 1964, which was formed by Jackie, Tito and Jermaine. Before Michael entered to the group, Jermaine was the lead singer, but soon Michael took his place. The group first signed with the label Steeltown, but then moved to Motown in 1968. They were very successful until 1973, when the group’s sales began to decline. Finally, they left Motown in 1975. After they left, they signed with Epic Records, just that without Jermaine since he stayed in Motown.
Michael’s solo career.
1979. Michael produced a solo album with Quincy Jones named “Off the wall”. 1982. Michael and Quincy released “Thriller”, which became the most selling album of all time. He won eight Grammy awards thanks to this album.
1987. Album “BAD” is released, and may not look as successful as Thriller, but it was great. Michael did a tour to promote the album, and it began in 1989.
1991. Michael produced “Dangerous”, and made the tour the next year. The most famous song of this album is the single “Black or White”, along with “Heal the World”, “Jam” and “Dangerous”.
1995. “HIStory” is released, along with the tour in 1996. It received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. It is a double CD album, which contains 15 hits on the first CD, and 15 new songs in the second one.
1997. Michael produced “Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix”, containing remixes of HIStory hits and five new songs. He also made the “Ghosts” short film.
2001. Michael released his last album, named “Invincible”, and after that had conflicts with Sony. The sales were lower compared to the rest of his albums, but the album was a hit anyway.
His wives and his children.
Michael married Lisa Marie Presley in May 1994. She gave him support after he was accused of child sexual abuse. They married in the Dominican Republic, and denied it for two months afterwards. Unfortunately, the marriage lasted less than two years. It is said that they broke up because Lisa felt she was left aside. On 1996, Michael married Debbie Rowe, and had his first children with her. Their names are Michael Joseph Jackson Jr (better known as Prince), and Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson. Prince was born on February 13, 1997, and Paris on April 3, 1998. Michael and Debbie divorced in 1999, and Michael got full custody of the children. Michael had a third child named Prince Michael Jackson II, or nicknamed “Blanket”. The identity of the mother remains unknown.
Gone too soon.
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, after suffering a cardiac arrest. Doctor Conrad Murray and his personal physician tried to resuscitate him, but attempts were unsuccessful. He was taken to the Ronald Reagan Medical Center, and was pronounced dead at 2:26 local time.
Before he died, he was preparing a comeback tour named “This is it”, that in his own words, would be his last show, “the final curtain call”. People around him said he didn’t look sick or anything, instead, he looked healthy and happy. After the autopsy, it has been found that Michael’s dead was caused by propofol, a pain killer. People thought that the responsible one was Dr. Murray, but no one really knows the truth about it. And so, the King of Pop leaves us with many doubts, but also good memories. Conclusion.
Michael had a hard life, since he didn’t really have a normal childhood, and that he had to face the media and everybody looking over him. But I think he was strong enough to get through that. He also was such a great musician and human, supporting people who were in need.
